C-Net has reviews and pricing information
for various kinds of software as well as digital imaging equipment
and software. Databases can be found under Software, Productivity
and Reference while digital imaging software can be found under
Graphics and Publishing, Image Editing. Digital Cameras have their
own section organized both by price and manufacturer.
ZD Net is another web site
with reviews of software and hardware. The Digital Camera section
provides a list of pros and cons for each camera as well as pricing
information and direct links to suppliers. Database software is
in the category Office Suites and Productivity and digital imaging
software is in Graphics Software. Both are organized by company
name and reviews contain the same information as mentioned above.
The Digital Camera Resource
Page lists specs for over 400 cameras and allows for a side-by-side
comparison of up to three cameras. There is also a link to the active
buyers guide, which asks a series of questions about how the camera
will be used and makes a recommendation based on the answers.
Digital Camera and Photography
Views, Reviews and News provides a complete information page
for each camera including camera specs, a variety of professional
reviews, and forum discussions. In addition, there is an extensive
tutorial page offering information about everything from aperture
settings to printers.
Digital Photography Review
provides up to date reviews and information about various digital
cameras and accessories. The web site provides a wealth of technical
information on various camera as well as a glossary, forums organized
by topic, and a buying guide where consumers can type in specification
for the type of camera they want and the database will give them
a list of options.

FileMaker’s official web site.
The Museum System
is an example of a relational database. Their web site has a good
explanation of how the system works within a museum setting.
The Conservation OnLine
web site offers informational topics which include digital imaging,
documentation, and electronic materials. In addition, one can search
the Dist List archives for postings relating to desired topics.
The American Institute for
Conservation (AIC) web site includes the AIC
Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice with a section specifically
about documentation. There is also additional commentary for many
of the points made in the Code of Ethics.

The
Canadian Conservation Institute site provides links to electronic
journals relating to the fields of preservation and conservation.
The projects and activities of the Council
on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) are aimed at ensuring
that information resources needed by scholars, students, and the
general public are available for future generations. CLIR's flexibility
to respond to the needs of libraries and archives as they arise
is its most important asset. The CLIR Board of Directors has identified
six interrelated themes—all focused on the long-term accessibility
of scholarly resources—that deserve immediate attention. They
are Preservation Awareness, Resources for Scholarship, Digital Libraries,
Economics of Information, Leadership and International Developments.
J. Hewit & Sons Limited
publishes a biannual newsletter, "Skin Deep." Its main themes are
leather making, leather work and bookbinding.
The
Journal of Conservation and Museum Studies is published under
the auspices of the Institute of Archaeology, University College
London, the Journal exists as an academic World Wide Web publication,
disseminating information to the global conservation and museum
community. The papers and articles found in the Journal represent
the work of conservation and museum studies students from around
the world, and have been refereed by academic staff representing
conservation and museum studies training programs.

than 100,000 abstracts of literature related to the preservation
and conservation of material cultural heritage.
The American Institute
for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works Publications
online archive of the Journal of the American Institute for Conservation
of Historic and Artistic Works.
The
Canadian Heritage Information Network is an international collaboration,
the Conservation Information Network (CIN) provides information
on the conservation and restoration of cultural property. The Bibliographic
Database of the Conservation Information Network (BCIN) provides
access to over 190,000 bibliographic citations for conservation
literature.
